The Hardware Post does not use affiliate links.

Every product link on this site goes directly to the retailer — Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, wherever we think you should buy it. There are no tracking parameters, no commission IDs, no referral codes. We don't earn a penny when you click a link or buy a product we recommend.

Why This Matters

Most "best of" sites in the tools and home improvement space are built on affiliate commissions. That creates an incentive — conscious or not — to recommend products that pay higher commissions, to link to retailers with better cookie windows, and to include more products than necessary so there are more links to click.

We think that model is broken. If you can't trust the recommendations, the recommendations are worthless.

How We Pick Products

Every product on this site goes through a scoring process that evaluates:

  • Real-world review data (rating quality, not just star count)
  • Current price vs. historical price
  • Seasonal relevance
  • Practical use case for homeowners (not contractors)
  • Return risk and merchant reliability

Products that don't meet our quality bar don't get featured. Period.

Will This Change?

If we ever introduce affiliate links or sponsorships, we'll tell you directly — on this page, in our newsletter, and in our community. Transparency is the only thing that makes trust work.
